Britney Spears Received a Special Letter from the U.S. Congress

Britney Spears is not only stronger than yesterday, but she's also receiving personal letters from the United States government.

In a post the “Toxic” singer made to Instagram, she revealed that the U.S. Congress reached out to her, asking if she would be willing to meet and discuss her recent legal victory. This is in regard to her win this past November, when her conservatorship of the last 13 years was terminated and she was given control over her estate and personal affairs once again.

Now, Spears has revealed that only a month after her victory, she received a letter from Congress that said, “We wanted to personally invite you and your counsel to meet with us in Congress at a mutually convenient time to describe in your own words how you achieved justice. There is no doubt that your story will empower countless others outside the millions that are already inspired by you and your art.”

The 40-year-old singer shared a copy of the letter on her account and revealed her excitement. “I received this letter months ago…An invitation to share my story…I was immediately flattered and at the time I wasn’t nearly at the healing stage I’m in now,” Spears said. “Number 1 - I’m grateful that my story was even ACKNOWLEDGED!!! Because of the letter, I felt heard and like I mattered for the first time in my life!!!”

She added, “In a world where your own family goes against you, it’s actually hard to find people that get it and show empathy!!!! Again, I’m not here to be a victim although I’m the first to admit I’m pretty messed up by it all…I want to help others in vulnerable situations, take life by the balls and be brave!!!” She signed the message, “B.”

The singer was met with loads of support in the comments, with one especially kind message coming from her fiancé, Sam Asghari, who said, “Your courage will inspire others, your strength will motivate many, your voice has and will change lives. You’re powerful. Beautiful. And strong. This is why I call you lioness.”

We can't wait for your governmental address, Britney!
