The Sweetest Looks from the Cannes Red Carpet Were Tied in a Bow

There has been no shortage of show-stopping looks at this year's Cannes Film Festival. While it feels like we've been blessed with months of this over-the-top carpet in the South of France, it's actually only been about ten days of killer fashion moments. And while browsing the many, many outfits, we happened to notice a lot of the dresses (and actual fancy pants) had one feature in common: bows. From the subtle to the ultra-dramatic, here are eight celebs who have us bow-ing down.

Margot Robbie In Chanel

The Chanel two-piece that Margot Robbie wore for the screening of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood included black sequin genie pants and a white tunic that was decorated with a bow and a giant rose. It was the opposite of subtle, but somehow it worked.

Elle Fanning In Dior

As a member of this year's Cannes jury, it seems like the younger Fanning sister has attended every important event this past week. Her style has yet to disappoint and has successfully featured bows in a number of different contexts. At the screening of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, she went for a full-on old Hollywood glam moment in this semi-sheer Dior pussy-bow blouse with a full '50s skirt and a fittingly dramatic hat.

Elle Fanning In Prada

At the Chopard Trophy event, Fanning opted for a subtler bow, and this time it was cinched right under the bust of her nude ballgown. (The Prada dress was so tight it caused Fanning to briefly faint.)

Dakota Fanning In Giorgio Armani Prive

Lest you think Elle is the only Fanning to appreciate a good bow, big sis Dakota also showed up to the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood screening in a classic strapless number from Giorgio Armani that was nipped at the waist with a satin bow in a gorgeous marigold color.

Deepika Padukone In Giambattista Valli

Wearing one of the loofa dresses that Giambattista Valli has become synonymous with, actress Deepika Padukone walked the red carpet adorned with not one, but two white bows that contrasted with the rest of her lime green, high-low confection.

Deepika Padukone In Dundas

If the bows on Padukone's previous dress served as mere accents, the one on this two-tone gown (that she wore to the screening of Rocketman) was the centerpiece.

Chloe Sevigny In Miu Miu

With all the sweeping hemlines on the carpet, it was refreshing to see this mini moment on Sevigny at the screening of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. We especially love how minimal she kept her shoes and accessories, allowing her hot pink scalloped dress—and giant black bow—to take center stage.

Chiara Ferragni In Philosophy Di Lorenzo Serafini

Though bows are typically equated with sweet, super-feminine ensembles, Italian blogger and designer Chiara Ferragni took a slightly edgier approach with a bra top that featured quite a healthy dose of sparkle.
