Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds Just Made a Major Pledge to Help Support Ukrainian Refugees

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively just made a major pledge to show their support for the people of Ukraine.

While many celebrities, including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, have been speaking up as Ukrainians flee their country due to invasions from Russian troops, Reynolds and Lively are the latest to make a public statement, and their message included a huge promise.

In a tweet made by Reynolds yesterday afternoon, the Free Guy star said, “In 48 hours, countless Ukrainians were forced to flee their homes to neighboring countries. They need protection. When you donate, we’ll match it up to $1,000,000, creating double the support.”

Reynolds made this statement, while quoting a tweet from the @UNRefugeeAgency that said, “Right now, the crisis in Ukraine is forcing families to flee their homes. Please make a donation today to send lifesaving aid to displaced Ukrainians, and @VancityReynolds & @blakelively will match your gift $1-for-$1 up to $1,000,000.”

Lively shared the same tweet to her own account and said, “@VancityReynolds & I are doubling every $donated to @UNRefugeeAgency up to $1,000,000 click below if you can join us @UNRefugeeAgency is on the ground providing lifesaving aid, & working with neighboring countries to ensure protection for the 50,000+ who were just forced to flee.”

This is not the first time the couple has made a move like this. Last September, the two pledged to donate $1 million to the American Civil Liberties Union and NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, with Reynolds saying on his Instagram Story: “Honored and excited to launch this. THANK YOU ACLU and NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund for your tireless work defending rights and protecting civil liberties.”

Could we love this couple any more?
