Bachelor Who? Peter Weber’s Mom Steals the Show in Season 24 Finale Episode

*Warning: Spoilers ahead*

Tonight on part two of the season 24 finale of The Bachelor, Peter Weber resumes his journey to find love after Madison self-eliminated in last night’s episode.

The installment picks up right where we left off in the previous episode, with the 28-year-old pilot raving about the only remaining contestant, Hannah Ann. Weber even calls her dad to ask for his blessing to propose.

Just then, Chris Harrison surprises Weber ahead of the final rose ceremony, saying, “I’m not positive [Hannah Ann] is coming. I’m really sorry.” After Weber nearly hyperventilates, the next scene shows Hannah Ann driving to the venue like nothing’s wrong. *Eye roll*

Hannah Ann almost trips on several occasions but eventually makes her way to Weber, who wastes no time diving into his proposal speech. To no surprise, she says, “Yes!”

Everything changes a few weeks later when Hannah Ann travels to Los Angeles to visit Weber for a secret get-together. Although Hannah Ann is all in, Weber isn’t giving her the same in return. “I never intended to give my heart to two people and the pain that comes with that,” he says. “I’ve just been battling it.”

Hannah Ann reminds Weber that all she ever wanted was for someone to give her 100 percent of them. “You took away from me my first engagement,” she says. “You took that away from me.”

Weber’s response? “I’m so sorry. From the bottom of my heart.” Hannah Ann gives him back the ring and then storms off.

In present-day, Weber sits down with Harrison in front of a live studio audience. The pilot explains that he couldn’t reciprocate Hannah Ann’s feelings, since he’s still not over Madison. When Hannah Ann joins them, she accuses him of leading her on. “I had no idea what I was saying ‘yes’ to,” she says. And then adds, “You need to become a real man.”

In a flashback, Harrison visits Madison in her hometown of Auburn, Alabama. She admits that she regrets leaving Australia so suddenly, since she’s still in love with Weber. The Bachelor Nation host tells Madison what happened with Weber and Hannah Ann. “I think in his dreams, he would be with you,” Harrison says.

In Los Angeles, Madison surprises Weber and says, “Can we talk?” (And yes, he looks genuinely surprised.) After a brief discussion, the pilot confirms that he still loves Madison.

Back in the studio, Madison joins Weber onstage and reveals that she feels the exact same way. When Harrison asks where they stand, Weber says they’re going to take it “one step at a time.”

It’s important to point out that Peter’s mom, Barbara, is not happy with the outcome. Throughout the entire episode, her reaction is shown in a picture-in-picture, and she rolls her eyes every time Madison comes on the screen. When Madison walks on stage, Barb mouths, “That’s a wig.”

When Harrison gives Weber’s mom the stage, she wastes no time explaining why she wanted her son to choose Hannah Ann. After criticizing Madison for making them wait “three hours,” Barb reveals that they didn’t connect with Madi on the same level.

“He’s going to have to fail to succeed,” Barb says. “Everyone knows it’s not going to work.”

“I’m telling you that I love Madison, and that should be enough,” Weber says.

The episode concludes with Harrison introducing the next Bachelorette, Clare Crawley.

There’s always next year, Neil Lane.
