This Brand-New Sherlock Holmes Series Just Hit #2 on Netflix—& the Drama-Filled Trailer Has Us Sold

Looking for something new to binge this week? Netflix released a fantasy drama series over the weekend and it’s already made its way onto the platform’s most popular TV shows list.

Called The Irregulars, the Netflix original series follows teenagers Bea, Jessie, Billy, Spike and Leo who team up with a doctor and Sherlock Holmes to investigate the mysterious depths of Victorian London. And after just three days on the streaming platform (it officially dropped on March 26), the series landed the number two spot on Netflix’s top ten list. We’re not totally surprised considering the show got an impressive critic score of 76 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Netflix’s synopsis reads, “Set in Victorian London, the series follows a gang of troubled street teens who are manipulated into solving crimes for the sinister Doctor Watson and his mysterious business partner, the elusive Sherlock Holmes. As the crimes take on a horrifying supernatural edge and a dark power emerges, it'll be up to the Irregulars to come together to save not only London but the entire world.”

The show stars McKell David (Black Mirror), Thaddea Graham (The Letter for the King), Jojo Macari (Sex Education), Harrison Osterfield (Catch-22), Darci ShawHenry (Judy), Lloyd-Hughes (Killing Eve) and Royce Pierreson (Line of Duty).

While The Irregulars currently only consists of one season, we have a feeling that this one’s going to be renewed for a second installment (maybe even a third).
