Netflix’s ‘Sounds Like Love’ Is a Cross Between ‘Fleabag’ & ‘The Devil Wears Prada’

We can’t wait to watch this Netflix movie, which sounds like a cross between Fleabag and The Devil Wears Prada. (Yes, you read that right.)

The streaming service just released a brand-new trailer for Sounds Like Love, which is an upcoming dry-witted comedy with a fashion twist.

Sounds Like Love is based on the best-selling Spanish book series by Elísabet Benavent, Canciones y Recuerdos (Songs and Memories). It tells the story of Maca (María Valverde), a young woman who’s living her best life in Madrid. Despite her less-than-ideal job as an assistant to a fashion influencer, Maca is determined to build a better future for herself.

Things take an interesting turn when her ex-boyfriend, Leo (Álex González), reenters the picture. Although her friends offer foolproof advice, Maca is forced to confront her unresolved feelings, which she didn’t even know existed. *Cue the internal dilemma*

Netflix’s official synopsis reads, “Just as Maca’s career reaches an inflection point, the enigmatic ex who broke her heart reappears in Madrid, and she turns to her friends for support.”

In addition to Valverde and González, Sounds Like Love also stars Elísabet Casanovas, Susana Abaitúa, Eva Ugarte, Miri Pérez-Cabrero, Roger Berruezo, Ignacio Montes, Artur Busquets, Claudia Galán and Carlo Costanzia. The film was directed by Juana Macías (Under the Same Roof), while Laura Sarmiento Pallarés (The Zone) wrote the screenplay.

Sounds Like Love will hit Netflix on September 29.
