Ricky Martin hasn’t graced our television screen since 2018, when he played Antonio D’Amico in Ryan Murphy’s The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. But he’s about to take Apple TV+ by storm in a new comedy series, Mrs. American Pie, according to Deadline.

The show, directed by Tate Taylor, is a ten-part period comedy based on the novel Mr. & Mrs. American Pie by Juliet McDaniel. The series is about a woman named Maxine Simmons (played by the beloved Kristen Wiig) who yearns to solidify her place in Palm Beach high society in the 1970s. The synopsis reads, “As Maxine attempts to cross that impermeable line between the haves and the have-nots, the series asks the same questions that still baffle us today: ‘Who gets a seat at the table?’ ‘How do you get a seat at the table?’ ‘What will you sacrifice to get there?'”

Martin will be playing the role of Robert alongside other stars such as Alison Janney, Josh Lucas and Laura Dern, who is also the executive producer.

Martin joins the cast a few months after co-headlining a tour with Enrique Iglesias. It’s been four years since his last acting role, but after his performance in Versace, we’re ready to pop some corn and cozy up on our couch.
