Does Lily Gladstone Have a Boyfriend? What We Know About Her Relationship Status

Gladstone has not publicly confirmed whether she's in a relationship, likely because she prefers to keep this part of her life out of the spotlight. Since the actress has not shared any dating updates in her interviews or on social media, it appears that she is single.

Gladstone tends to steer clear of this topic in her interviews. However, the actress did confirm in 2023 that she goes by both she and they pronouns. She told People, "In most Native languages, most Indigenous languages, Blackfeet included, there are no gendered pronouns. There is no he/she, there's only they."

She added, "Our gender is implied in our name. But even that's not binary. There were lots of women historically and still now who are given men's names. They fulfill more of a man's role in society as far as being provider, warrior, those sort of things. So, yeah, my pronoun use is partly a way of decolonizing gender for myself.”

Gladstone may not be vocal about her dating status, but she did open up about a past relationship with her high school sweetheart.

As it turns out, he gave her a thoughtful gift to wear if she ever attended the Oscars. Gladstone told People, “He got me out of a little, just one of those little machines where you drop a couple quarters in and then you get a little prize back. He had gotten these little star glasses, like these little tiny kids' glasses with stars on them. He said, ‘You have to keep these and you have to wear them to the Academy Awards when you go one year.’”

She continued, “I still have them. If I end up going this year, I'll dig them out, and I'll keep them in my purse at least.”

Sure enough, Gladstone stayed true to her word and rocked the star glasses while chatting with people in the audience at the 96th Annual Academy Awards.

Well, yes and no. According to director Martin Scorsese, who worked with the duo on Killers of the Flower Moon, Leonardo DiCaprio and Gladstone definitely shared a flirty moment on set—but only to create genuine chemistry as the film's romantic leads. Per Men's Journal, at an October 2023 press conference, the director said that DiCaprio improvised his famous 'handsome devil' comment, which caused Gladstone to "laugh for real."

If you recall, in the scene, DiCaprio's character, Ernest, drives Mollie around the Osage reservation, and when he hears her speak the native language, he says, "Well, I don’t know what that was, but it must have been Indian for 'handsome devil.'"
