Summertime and the living's easy…or so they say. Clearly these people haven’t worn a face full of foundation on a 102-degree day. So we tried everything under the (ahem) sun and are here to share the six products that can withstand it all.

Hourglass Cosmetics Veil Mineral Primer

We were pretty skeptical about primers, too—that is, until we found this gem. For starters, it lightly fills in any lines and ridges on your face so that you get the smoothest canvas for makeup. But the reason why it made this list (and has earned a permanent spot in our makeup bags) is because it somehow keeps everything—foundation, blush, the whole nine—looking fresh all day.

Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation

OK, so we don’t know about the whole 24-hour-wear claims the label makes. (Why on earth would you wear foundation for that long anyway?) But we can attest to the fact that once this stuff is on, it lasts (and lasts…and lasts). On that note, a little goes a long way, so apply with a light hand and skip the concealer. Trust us: You won’t need it.

Stila Aqua Glow Watercolor Blush

Just as the name implies, this blush swathes cheeks in the softest flush of color. And because of its water-based and oil-free formula, it’s extremely lightweight and stays put without sliding around your face—no matter what the weather’s doing that day. (Oh, and the gel actually feels cooling on your skin, which is pretty amazing on those particularly muggy mornings.)

Missha Matt Painting Rouge

Think about all of the drawbacks of a typical liquid lipstick: They’re gloopy, they wear unevenly and they dry out your lips like no other. This one does none of that. It glides on, doesn’t budge and feels comfortable through multiple sips and bites. (It even withstands that sweat mustache.)

Missha ($12)

Bobbi Brown

Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick

This chubby crayon does it all. It can act as an eyeliner depending on what shade you use (and there are 19 awesome ones). It can do a ten-second smoky eye. And most importantly, it does not move once you put it on your lids—so much so that we recommend you fix any errant lines within the first few seconds of applying it.

Bobbi Brown ($30)

Blinc Mascara Amplified

If you haven’t tried tubing mascara before, prepare to have your life changed. It goes on like any other mascara, but instead of tinting your lashes with a typical pigment, this one has special polymers that encase them in waterproof tubes of color. Rain, sweat, tears—nothing will cause this stuff to smudge or flake. The only way to remove it is with warm water and gently squeezing the tubes off with your fingertips. (Sounds weird, but it’s oddly satisfying.)
