As someone who is in her mid-twenties, I don’t particularly struggle with fine lines and wrinkles just yet, however I do take my anti-aging skincare steps seriously, thanks to my late grandmother. When I heard that the clean beauty brand Drunk Elephant released a retinol oil for newbies, I had to get my hands (err…face) on it ASAP.

And I need to make something clear, I never really paid too much attention to what ingredients were in my skincare products in the past. If the hype was there and the packaging looked good, then it must be good for me, right? Wrong. After interchangeably testing out product after product a few months ago and waking up to questionable rash-like outbreaks around my neck and eyes, I realized that I needed to stop what I was doing to my skin and pay attention to the ingredients.

Trust me when I say A-Gloei Maretinol Oil will be your new favorite step in your skincare regimen (and the ultimate saving grace this winter). The oil, packaged in a recyclable glass container (hello sustainable brands!) with an easy-to-use dropper, is designed to minimize the look of fine lines, sun damage, blemishes and hyperpigmentation without irritating or drying out the skin as many retinol products have the tendency to do.

A-Gloei includes virgin marula oil and ceramides, making it rich in antioxidants and omegas 6 and 9 for the ultimate moisture and hydration bomb that will fill in the spaces between skin cells to improve skin elasticity. After just a few weeks of using the oil nightly, my skin has never felt smoother. In the past, I’ve struggled with face oils— I found that a few can err on the side of runny (in a bad way) and cause irritation in my eyes, but not with this one.

The best part, IMO? A-Gloei Maretinol Oil is, hands down, easy and fun to use with other products. Known for their facial smoothies, Drunk Elephant’s products can be combined in myriad ways depending on your skin’s needs. After my nighttime serums, I like to mix two to three drops of this vibrant, yellow oil with my Lala Retro™ Whipped Moisturizer or into my once-a-week F-Balm™ Electrolyte Waterfacial Mask. And I wake up with plump, hydrated skin that’s ready to take on the harsh winter winds. Their product also claims to minimize damage caused by UV exposure, pollution and other free radicals—as someone who always exposed my face to the sun for a “tan” sans SPF while growing up, I needed this.

Tempted to test it out? Whether you struggle with aging skin, pesky blemishes or you just want to enjoy the benefits of healthy skin, you won’t regret taking that extra step towards glowing skin.
