Your Weekly Horoscopes, September 15 to 21, 2019
This week, we’ll be walking the fine line between following our hearts and following the plan. On the 18th, Saturn (aka the planet of discipline) stations direct and the ghost of responsibilities past comes back to haunt us. Yes, it’s time to get serious. On the 21st, bright-eyed Jupiter in Sagittarius squares off with messy Neptune in Pisces, and we want to forgo all that adulting to do something wild. Before jumping in, let’s consider how extra is too extra. It’s not wise to bite off more than we can chew!
(Horoscopes follow for each sign. If you know your rising sign, reading for that will provide further insight.)
This is a great week to get serious about dating. Make sure you’re looking for love in ways that are comfortable for you, and not just taking your friends’ well-intentioned but misguided advice. Hinge may have worked out perfectly for your BFF and her new fiancé but maybe you connect better with love interests IRL. Head to a local activist meetup, or book yourself a spot in the pottery class you’ve always wanted to try. You never know who shares your passions.
You recently moved to a new state or just upgraded to a fancy new West Elm bed frame, so it’s time to get serious about feeling cozy in your own space. Take an entire day this week to set up your room just how you like, complete with a curated “mess” of books on your bedside table. Make sure you’re also feeling comfortable in your social life. Even if your sister (or closest friend) is texting you off the hook about one of her problems, put your phone on “Do Not Disturb” and indulge in your own privacy. Someday, she’ll appreciate the boundary.
You’ve been feeling tongue-tied since the spring, searching for the perfect way to communicate how you really feel. This week, you’re finally inspired to speak your mind so don’t miss the opportunity to write it clearly on the walls. Start that long-stalled writing project or finally find the time to put together the email you owe to an ex. Let your words be their own release.
An opportunity to make more money comes your way this week. You may feel like you are unworthy of this promotion but try to let go of your insecurities and trust that this is worthwhile. You need to go where you’re valued. You’ve grown so much this year, and it has often felt overwhelming. After you accept the offer, take some time to decompress by yourself. Spend a day alone at the spa, basking in the glow of complete silence.
Everyone wants you at their birthday party, their art opening and their baby shower, but it’s OK to turn them down to focus on self-care. You’re discovering so much about your limits. Even if it’s your husband or kids vying for your attention, put yourself first this week. It’s a particularly auspicious time to start a new hobby or habit, so take that free time and pick up the guitar. When you learn to relax, you’re never far from bliss.
Listen, you need to let go of a grudge. Your coworker shouldn’t have used all of your salad dressing from the staff fridge and your mom should have asked you before inviting your high school ex to Thanksgiving dinner but unfortunately their actions are out of your control. Spend some time journaling about your dreams and goals to help release what’s bothering you. Looking to the future can help you realize the lessons of the past.
Remember, not every friendship is meant to last forever. This week don’t be surprised if a friend who you thought you would never hear from again sends a quick text or email asking to catch up. Take him or her up on the offer but put a limit on the time you spend together. You might be surprised to learn that it was you who seemed intimidating. Take a moment to understand what type of presence you are.
Don’t be too worried when you’re called into an unexpected meeting with your boss this week. Whether you’re receiving constructive criticism or much deserved praise, this feedback is just what you need to hear, as you’re coming into your own as a leader. It’s tempting to escape into fantasies of a recent getaway but instead of totally spacing out, find bliss at your desk. Set your desktop background to an ocean view, grab lunch that reminds you of an afternoon on the boardwalk and just keep working.
You’ve wanted to change your life for a long time, sweet bull. Whether it’s moving upstate, booking a trip to visit your great-grandmother’s hometown in Croatia, or finally attending a local tarot meetup, it’s time to make moves toward something that makes you feel enlightened. Tell your friends about your grand visions, but don’t expect them to come along for the ride. This path is yours alone.
Whether you’re launching a vintage clothing business with your BFF, getting the paperwork together to buy a house with your spouse, or collaborating with a client on a project that has the potential to elevate both of your careers, commitment becomes particularly exhausting this week. To avoid burnout, remember that your partner is there to support you and you can lean on them as hard as you need.
Take some time this week to send love to everyone who has supported you this year, moonchild. Treat your boyfriend to an evening at his favorite bar or buy some cute stationery to send notes to the friends who have so kindly lent an ear to your worries. It’s important to make these kinds of celebrations a routine rather than just an occasion, so remember to mark your calendar for next month’s round of appreciation.
You’ve been out on the literal or metaphorical road. But this week you must return to a routine, Leo. It’s difficult to gather the courage to call the dentist or (worse) the dermatologist, but you can’t wish away a toothache or a pesky mole. When you finally schedule the appointment, celebrate but don’t go overboard. Have a glass of natural wine or buy a chic new outfit for work. Treat yourself to something that makes you feel powerful.
