Your Weekly Horoscopes: November 8 to 14, 2020

The forward momentum we’ve been craving is here. But are we ready for it? The sun—our life force—makes supportive aspects to dreamy Neptune, opportunistic Jupiter and life-changing Pluto throughout the week. Nothing is ideal but how do we make the most of the situation we’re in so we can create a better future?

Things are especially intense on the 12th and 13th. First on Thursday the 12th, Jupiter (expansion) meets up with Pluto (transformation) in Capricorn for the third and final time this year (previously on April 4th and June 30th—which, yes, also correlates directly to spikes of COVID-19 cases throughout the world). This extremely influential planetary alignment is found in the charts of cultural royalty like Whoopi Goldberg, literal royalty like Prince William and tech billionaires like Bill Gates. Power is consolidated and innovation speeds up with this aspect. Develop that project! Ask for a raise! Get paid! Even if the benefits aren’t immediately obvious, it’s important to set the foundation.

Mars starts moving forward again on Friday the 13th and the frustrations and tensions we’ve been feeling since September 9th—and really since late July—come to a conclusion. It’s a cathartic exhale that we haven’t experienced in months. Mars also opposes Venus this week, which increases sexual tension and stokes our competitive spirit. Though we’re exhausted, anything is possible. Let’s stay cautious but optimistic about what’s to come.

(Horoscopes follow for each sign. If you know your rising sign, reading for that will provide further insight.)

7 scorpio

You’re burnt out. You know what needs to be done, but it’s impossible to start. But this week, you get to take back your power. Mercury moves into your sign on the 10th, which helps you say what you have to say. Your communication is sharp, incisive and completely necessary. Mars stations direct on the 13th, which gives you yet another energetic boost. Remember that the work you’re doing right now isn’t about winning or being in the spotlight, it’s about getting aligned with your purpose.

This week’s mantra: Being polite is overrated.

8 sagittarius

With Mercury joining the sun in your unconscious sector on the 10th, you’re really better off laying low this week. The adventure is coming but not quite yet. Spend your time doing behind the scenes work: reading, meditating and taking some extra naps. Rest is necessary. Your ruling planet, Jupiter, meets Pluto for the third and final time this year on the 12th, which brings positive news about your income. You’re ready to throw yourself into something with passion. But remember that there are benefits to a slow burn.

This week’s mantra: Savor what you have.

Since September, you’ve been struggling to feel comfortable. Whether dealing with family troubles, roommate woes or a home improvement nightmare, your private life has felt chaotic and unsettled. And though you’re feeling supported at work and making moves toward your goals, you can’t help but feel like you’re in this alone. When Jupiter meets Pluto in your sign on the 12th though, you’re reminded that it’s OK to ask for help. Getting the support you need is a reminder of your resilience.

This week’s mantra: Look for the helpers.

10 aquarius

Mercury the messenger moves back into Scorpio on the 10th, joining the sun in your career sector. Your coworkers and even your boss have found you a bit intimidating lately. Not because you aren’t “nice” but because you’re so particular about what you say. And when you do say something, it’s always a cutting take. A harsh truth that no one can deny. Lean into this power. As you continue to discover your own unique path in your career, remember that the goal isn’t popularity. Keep speaking up.

This week’s mantra: No one else can say it like you.

11 pisces

Since September, it’s felt like you’ve been throwing money at all of your problems and your bank account is not happy about it. Thankfully as Mars stations direct in your finance sector on the 13th, your cash flow can finally get back on track. (If you’re getting takeout on autopilot, head to the grocery store instead!) Now it’s time to figure out how to make more money to support your future goals. Your friends are where you find your luck so lean on them for advice and support.

This week’s mantra: Save it for later.

12 aries

With your ruling planet, Mars, stationing direct on the 13th, you’re back on your bullshit. Finally! But just because you have more energy doesn’t mean you should do whatever you want. On the 9th especially, you might make a rash decision and though it works out fine for you, it could be a disaster for your partner. Not everyone is working at your speed. As life picks up again, recognize where you need to find balance. It’s worth it to get a second opinion.

This week’s mantra: Winning isn’t everything.

1 taurus

Oh, sweet Taurus. The last several months have been so isolating for you. Whether your hubby has been out of town or your work wife has been on maternity leave, you’ve been especially lonely. Even your top Frenemy has been MIA! (Though, stay grateful that there’s been less compare and despair doom scrolling!). Finally, this week, either your lover returns, or you learn to show up for yourself. Routines are support systems! Especially on the 9th, take pleasure in all the ways you take care.

This week’s mantra: Be your own best friend.

2 gemini

It’s not the time to take the lead, but it is the time to do the work. On the 10th especially, you might be feeling frustrated with a lack of leadership at the office but with your ruling planet, Mercury, going back into Scorpio (where it is effectively a silent observer), you can only focus on the tasks at hand. Put your head down and do the work. The rest of this month is about setting up systems and remaining humble. Don’t give away all of your secrets yet.

This week’s mantra: A clear space means a clear mind.

3 cancer

Your work-life balance has been all out of whack recently—as we’ve asked before, are you working from home or living at work? And on the 9th, you’re forced to pause and figure out how to separate the two. Working from a lap desk in bed has been an experience but it’s probably time to invest in a sturdy chair for office hours. Mars stationing direct on the 13th means forward motion for your career. What tools do you need to get ahead? Don’t expect everything to happen at once.

This week’s mantra: Productivity needs structure.

4 leo

While everyone else is freaking out, you’re somehow able to remain calm and collected. Maybe you’re sorting through your archives in your mom’s basement. Maybe you had the foresight to take this week off work and are currently binging Selling Sunset. Whatever it is, you’re doing important work behind the scenes. Not everything has to be up for public consumption. On the 10th and the 14th especially, take the time to reflect on your habits and routines. You’re setting yourself up for success.

This week’s mantra: Keep the work to yourself.

5 virgo

With your ruling planet, Mercury, moving out of flirty Libra and into incisive Scorpio on the 10th, you’re ready to shamelessly cut off a toxic hookup or a draining friendship. The Jupiter-Pluto conjunction on the 12th is all about getting real about what brings you pleasure, and you’re shocked to realize how much more space you have for things you love when you close that door. Don’t worry about hurting anyone’s feelings. Just say what you have to say and move on to the next phase of your life.

This week’s mantra: As “Adele Dazeem” sang in Frozen, “Let it go.”

6 libra

Being a calm presence through the storm is a thankless job and a conflict that comes back up on the 9th—for at least the third time this year–– really pushes your buttons. If you’re not careful, you might finally lose your cool. Try to lay low and remember that not everyone deserves your anger. The Jupiter-Pluto conjunction on the 12th is an opportunity to push for change with your family or in your living situation. Keep winning with kindness.

This week’s mantra: Choose your battles.
