Your Weekly Horoscopes: April 5 to 11, 2020

Just when we thought we were settling into the rhythm of our “new normal,” this week brings quite a few shake-ups to that routine. On the 7th, there’s a full moon in Libra. Though Libra is the sign of fairness and equality, this full moon pushes our buttons. On the same day, aggressive Mars squares off with powder keg Uranus. In sum, it’s an astrological lightning strike. Brilliant ideas come to light and difficult decisions must be made. Thankfully, the rest of the week is fairly quiet. On the 11th, communication planet Mercury moves into Aries after retrograding and dragging its feet through Pisces since early February. Expression flows better when Mercury is in Aries. Things are about to be very loud and very blunt.

(Horoscopes follow for each sign. If you know your rising sign, reading for that will provide further insight.)

Are you giving your attention to the right people? How would your life change if you no longer put stock in people who aren’t worth your time? This week’s full moon on the 7th is a moment to reckon with all that is and isn’t working in your committed relationships (and that goes for contracts and clients as much as it does for romantic partners and friends). Tensions that arise on the 7th might make a confrontation seem reactionary, so wait until later in the week to speak your piece.

This week’s mantra: Not everyone is worth your time.

1 taurus

What’s worth your effort? This week, the full moon on the 7th illuminates a situation where you may be working extremely hard without getting what you want in return. Whether that’s putting in way more hours than your coworkers while working from home, being the only one of your roommates who’s cleaning during quarantine, or being the only parent present, the burden becomes very clear. It’s OK to accept the situation for now—we’re in strange times. But, on the 11th, prioritize your own rest and meditation.

This week’s mantra: You don’t have to do everything forever.

How can you share your passion? This week’s full moon on the 7th is a time for you to give in to a whim down an unknown path. Want to put together a whole flight of quarantine cocktails? Want to spend 12 hours playing Animal Crossing with your kids? Write a poem! Sing a song! Do a TikTok dance! On the 11th, everything that’s been going wrong at work finally gets resolved, so use all that energy you were putting into emails to write love letters instead.

This week’s mantra: Passion is energy.

Do you need to call your mom? How about your sister? This week’s full moon on the 7th makes all that behind-the-scenes family drama impossible to ignore. Maybe your aunt is frustrated that your updates aren’t frequent enough. Or maybe, much to your chagrin, your dad still isn’t following the social-distancing rules. Whatever it is, on the 11th, you feel the call to take the reins of the conversation and set an example of kindness and humility (with a little bit of force). You don’t owe anyone anything but honesty.

This week’s mantra: Be patient with those you love.

4 leo

Do you need help pulling yourself out a nostalgia vortex, Leo? This week’s full moon on the 7th is sure to make you miss the simple things: walks to the neighborhood bar, coffee dates with your sister and scenic summer road trips. With emotions running high early in the week, be extra careful not to project your stress onto your partner or your coworkers. You are reimagining what you want from your career, but it’s best to take a risk without bringing someone else down with you.

This week’s manta: It’s OK to do it alone for now.

Hopefully, if nothing else, you’ve been using this time of isolation to get back into your fitness routine. Taking classes over Zoom is kind of awesome, isn’t it? Your perfectionist self can relax because no one’s watching. At the full moon on the 7th, a financial investment you made last September comes to fruition. How are your budgets holding up? Are you proud of all that you’ve saved? If you feel like you’ve come out on top, focus your efforts later this week on spreading the wealth.

This week’s mantra: Sharing is caring.

6 libra

You’ve been such a good friend during this unprecedented time: delivering groceries to your neighbors, supporting every online business and organizing your building’s deep clean. But how are you doing? This week’s full moon forces you to take care of your own mental and physical health. Skip FaceTiming with the old friend you don’t even like and read a book instead. Let yourself just be. On the 11th, if you’re willing to focus, you can make a lot of headway on a creative project. Share what you’re working on with someone you trust.

This week’s mantra: Put yourself first.

7 scorpio

You have been doing so much work for the past few weeks and now it’s time to step away. As the full moon on the 7th illuminates all that is out of your control, do yourself a favor and let someone else take the wheel. Tell your boss she can no longer contact you outside of office hours. You can’t be everyone’s everything all the time. Something uncomfortable at home is making it so you can’t relax quite the way you wanted to, but that doesn’t mean you don’t deserve an extra-long nap.

This week’s mantra: Take a break…or three.

8 sagittarius

If this strange time has left you feeling more socially isolated than normal, this week’s full moon on the 7th is a reminder of all the wonderful people who surround you. Even if you can’t see their faces in person, make an extra effort to reach out. Meanwhile, the home-improvement projects you’ve been working on since before any of us were told to shelter in place finally start coming together. At week’s end, your mental energy shifts away from these organizing schemes and more toward creativity. Allow yourself to creatively dream, float and meditate.

This week’s mantra: People want to hear from you.

Though you may be stuck in your house, this week’s full moon on the 7th is a huge moment for your career and public image. What intentions did you set last September that are blooming now? If you’ve been struggling to communicate with your boss while working from home, now is the time to stick up for yourself. Consider this as well: Something you want is getting in the way of something that you need. On the 11th, a gift arrives from a family member that helps you feel supported. You’re not alone.

This week’s mantra: Work isn’t everything.

10 aquarius

What are you learning through this experience? The full moon on the 7th is a time to reckon with your beliefs as well as your educational and spiritual goals. You are better than most at grasping the big picture and not getting caught in the details of the situation, so as anxious as you may feel, remember that you can adjust things to make them more comfortable. Switch around all the furniture in your apartment. Put up extra curtains in your bedroom. Growth comes when you are comfortable in your own environment.

This week’s mantra: Pay attention to the clues.

11 pisces

It’s OK to be frustrated. This week’s full moon on the 7th highlights all that has been lost. You may need to mourn. You may need to yell or scream while you’re on your daily walk or run. You may need to ask for help. Let it all out. You know which friends are willing to listen to you, so only seek out those comforting ears. Don’t let what isn’t working out distract you from the things that really are. What partnerships return to you as much as you give? Hold space for what makes you feel like growing.

This week’s mantra: Let it bloom.
