Men vs. Women: This Study Reveals Who Spends More on Wedding Gifts

You and your bae have a fridge plastered with wedding invites for the coming season—and that means a congratulatory gift for each newlywed couple. But how much money do you plan on budgeting? Do you see eye to eye with your S.O. on how much to spend? We were surprised to learn that—wait for it—women actually err on the frugal side when it comes to wedding gifts.

According to a survey conducted by Brilliant Earth, almost half of responding women thought $50 was an appropriate amount to shell out on a wedding gift. On the other hand, 39 percent of male responders favored $100 (versus 27 percent that answered $50). In fact, men were 1.4 times more likely to answer with $100 than women.

What’s even more, the guys in the group were more likely than ladies to budget $200 dollars on gifts—17 percent versus 13 percent. (Generous much?)

Now, if only we could get them to spend $100 on a present for *us*.
