Season 3 of ‘Westworld’ Is Coming to HBO Sooner Than You Think

Step aside, Game of Thrones. We finally know when to expect season three of Westworld.

In a recent interview with Deadline, the network revealed that new episodes of the popular HBO series will hit the streaming service in 2020. While little is known about the third season of Westworld, we expect it to pick up where the season-two finale left off. (You know, with the park in ruins.)

The sci-fi series is one of many TV shows returning to HBO in 2020, including Insecure (season four) and Curb Your Enthusiasm (season ten), in addition to the season premiere of Run. Unfortunately, the network has yet to announce any further details about Lovecraft Country, The Nevers, Contraband and Perry Mason.

Westworld originally hit HBO in 2016 and starred Evan Rachel Wood (Dolores), Thandie Newton (Maeve), Jeffrey Wright (Bernard), Ed Harris (Man in Black), James Marsden (Teddy), Anthony Hopkins (Dr. Robert Ford), Angela Sarafyan (Clementine), Tessa Thompson (Charlotte), Luke Hemsworth (Ashley) and Simon Quarterman (Lee).

The series, which is based on the 1973 Michael Crichton movie of the same name, tells the story of a futuristic theme park in which visitors can interact with robots—or “hosts”—using artificial consciousness.

Guess there’s a light at the end of the tunnel Game of Thrones after all.
