Tracee Ellis Ross Just Replicated One of Her Mom's Vintage Photo Shoots

While Tracee Ellis Ross has made quite the name for herself as the star of hit TV comedies like Black-ish and Girlfriends, she's got some pretty famous roots too.

In case you were unaware, Ross is the daughter of esteemed music executive Robert Ellis Silberstein and legendary Motown singer Diana Ross. As indicated by her many Instagram posts, the 48-year-old actress is very close with both of her parents, and just the other day, Ross decided to honor her mother by recreating one of her stunning vintage photo shoots.

The image—which according to W magazine, is from a '70s editorial—shows mom Diana wearing a yellow top with a heavily-beaded neckline and some gold hoops, while folding her arms behind her head. Ross posted the shot to her Instagram and said, “No. 1: MAMA.”

Along with the portrait of her mom, Ross showed herself recreating the image, from the beaded top all the way down to the same red shade of lipstick.

She continued her numbered list in the caption, where she said, “No. 2: ME.”

Finally, Ross closed out the series with a zoomed-out shot. In the photo, the actress's arms are raised in a victorious pose, and she captioned it: “No. 3: NAILED IT!!”

Many users loved seeing Ross emulate her mom. The Walking Dead actress Lauren Ridloff commented, “Legend begets legend,” and also said, “Bless those genes.” Meanwhile, writer Michaela Angela Davis wrote, “Muse Mama.”

This is not the first time Ross has pulled from her mom's closet. Last October, she channeled Diana Ross's look from her 1975 film, Mahogany, and then in February, she discussed a sparkly top that she dug out of her mom's garage and wore to the American Music Awards in 2017.

Keep the dupes coming, Tracee.
