*Warning: Spoilers ahead*
Just when we felt like everything was starting to come together nicely for the Pearsons, last night’s episode of This Is Us had to go and spoil everything. Sure, we knew Rebecca’s (Mandy Moore) journey with Alzheimer’s was beginning, but we thought it would progress more slowly. But that’s not the only wrench in the Pearsons’ plans for happiness. It appears Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Toby (Chris Sullivan) are headed toward trouble.
Tension has been building between the new parents, and in episode nine (aka the fall finale), Kate saw a text conversation between Toby and his female CrossFit friend in which he confessed that he and Kate are having issues. The woman said she’s there for him if he needs anything. (Suspicious!) Although Kate hasn’t spoken with Toby about it or her hatred of his new CrossFit lifestyle yet, she’ll have to at some point. And it appears she’s going to in episode ten.
As the new trailer shows, Kate tells Toby that she can feel him distancing himself from her.
