After Four Seasons NBC Is Officially Saying Goodbye to ‘The Good Place’

the good place

NBC just announced some forking bad news about its super popular TV show The Good Place: After four seasons, the series is coming to an end.

Yup, the next season (which is coming to a TV near you this fall), will be the final one. Series creator Michael Schur took to Twitter to announce the big news on Friday.

“I began to feel like four seasons—just over 50 episodes—was the right lifespan,” Schur explains.

It was only back in December 2018 when the news broke that there would be a fourth season. Kristen Bell, the star of the show, shared her reaction in a sweet Instagram post.

“So forking grateful to have a 4th season of @nbcthegoodplace!!!” she captioned the picture of herself and her cast members. “This show is a dream come true and I absolutely love working with all of the people who make it happen. Holy shirt!”

The series follows Eleanor (Kristen Bell), Chidi (William Jackson Harper), Tahani (Jameela Jamil) and Jason (Manny Jacinto), who arrive in the afterlife, following their deaths, and find they need to prove they’re decent humans. Michael, the creator of the peculiar heaven-like utopia where they all reside (aka the Good Place), is played by Ted Danson.

So, what can we expect from the ending? We’re not entirely sure. And apparently, neither is Bell. It looks like we'll have to just wait and see.

Yeah, we’re officially in a good bad place.
