Sterling K. Brown Is Joining ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ Season 3

It appears Randall Pearson is ditching the city council for stand-up comedy. (Well, sorta.)

Sterling K. Brown just revealed that he’s joining season three of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. The This Is Us star, 43, announced the news in a brand-new Instagram video and wrote, “I’m beyond excited to share some pretty marvelous news… #MrsMaisel, I’m coming for you!”

In the clip, Brown casually sips a cup of coffee before confessing that he’s leaving California and heading “eastward bound” to film season three of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

“The Palladinos were kind enough to write a little something for your boy,” he says in the clip, referring to two of the show’s executive producers, Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino. “And I said, ‘Yes.’ So, stay tuned. I’m getting together with Midge, and it’s going to be awesome.”

Although we don’t know much about Brown’s involvement, we can’t say we’re surprised by the news that he’ll be working elsewhere, since season three of This Is Us recently wrapped on NBC. And this won’t be the actor’s only outside role. In fact, Brown has a number of projects lined up for the next year, including Angry Birds 2, The Rhythm Section, Frozen 2 and Waves.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel originally premiered on Amazon in 2017. It starred Rachel Brosnahan (Miriam or “Midge”), Tony Shalhoub (Abe), Alex Borstein (Susie), Michael Zegen (Joel), Marin Hinkle (Rose), Kevin Pollak (Moishe) and Caroline Aaron (Shirley).

Will Brown serve as Midge’s new love interest? Or will he help Susie launch Midge’s stand-up comedy career? Guess we’ll have to wait until season three of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel hits Amazon later this year.
