Any royal aficionado knows how important Queen Elizabeth II's corgis were to her. In fact, they even had their own Palace Dog Room at Buckingham Palace (no, we're not kidding). But since the monarch's passing in September 2022, her beloved pooches have been put under the care of Sarah Ferguson and her ex-husband, Prince Andrew. Based on Ferguson's recent Instagram post, it seems these dogs are in good hands.

In the update, posted earlier this month, the Duchess of York, 63, revealed that she takes the corgis for walks on the exact routes where the late queen used to walk them with a slideshow of gorgeous nature shots, writing, “I took all 7 doggies yesterday to where Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth used to walk them. It was wonderful to have a moment to remember.”

Ferguson also took the opportunity to share one of the newest episodes of her podcast, Tea Talks with the Duchess & Sarah, which focuses on grief (you can listen to it here). “On this week’s podcast episode of ‘Tea Talks with the Duchess & Sarah,’...we’ll talk about dealing with grief, gaining strength and all the small steps we must take to recovery,” she wrote.

This isn't the first time the Duchess of York has updated followers on the status of QEII's pups. Back in October, the romance novelist posted a selfie with the dogs right around her 63rd birthday. The caption read, “The presents that keep giving...”

Meanwhile, the royal grandma also made an impressive feast for the corgis in honor of King Charles's coronation (as seen in the post above).

Per The Telegraph, a close source revealed why Sarah Ferguson was one of the two chosen to take ownership of the dogs: “The Duchess bonded with Her Majesty over dog walking and riding horses and, even after her divorce, she would continue her great friendship with Her Majesty, by walking the dogs in Frogmore and chatting.”

It certainly seems that Queen Elizabeth made the right choice.
