Sandra Oh just revisited her Princess Diaries role, and the result is even more iconic than I could have hoped for.

This week, the Killing Eve star, 52, made a cameo on The Kelly Clarkson Show. In the clip, Oh channeled her character from The Princess Diaries, Vice Principal Geraldine Gupta, to introduce Anne Hathaway. The actress recreated an iconic scene, featuring the principal answering the phone and learning that Queen Clarisse (Julie Andrews) is coming to Grove High School.

Oh picks up the phone and says, “Gupta. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.” After hanging up, she adds, “The queen is coming.” Although the original scene is referring to Andrews’s character, the camera cuts to show Hathaway taking the stage at The Kelly Clarkson Show

Back in 2022, Disney confirmed that it’s developing The Princess Diaries 3. Hathaway previously told V Magazine that production is progressing smoothly. “We’re in a good place,” she said. “That’s all I can say. There’s nothing to announce yet. But we’re in a good place.”

Although Oh hasn’t confirmed whether she’ll reprise her role in the third installment, this recreation seems to suggest that it’s a possibility.

The Princess Diaries originally premiered in 2001, and it was based on the namesake book by Meg Cabot. The film was so successful, it spawned a 2004 sequel, Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement

BRB, rewatching The Princess Diaries.
