Reese Witherspoon is here to help curate your summer 2019 reading list.
Over the weekend, the Big Little Lies star, 43, revealed that she selected her book club pick for June: The Cactus by Sarah Haywood, which tells the story of a 45-year-old woman who faces an unexpected pregnancy.
Witherspoon captioned the post, “Happy June everybody! I’m so excited to announce that our 1st book pick of the summer is #TheCactus by @SarahJHaywood. This title is a perfect metaphor for Susan who is a single, regimented woman faced with an unexpected pregnancy just as she navigates a difficult family inheritance issue at the same time.”
The actress went on to share her thoughts about the international best seller, adding, “I found myself laughing out loud at Susan’s prickly character as she finds herself in a love triangle, navigating family ties and dealing with 9 months of pregnancy at the age of 45. Hope y’all love Susan as much as I do!”
Reese’s Book Club x Hello Sunshine recently announced an all-new partnership with Audible. Basically, Witherspoon will now select books with audio in mind, so readers can enjoy both the audiobook and hardcover versions of her selection.
Eventually, the BLL star plans to release original audio, called Audible Originals by Hello Sunshine, though she has yet to reveal any further details about the project.
