Queen Elizabeth Is Now Brewing (& Selling) Her Very Own Beer

It’s no secret that Queen Elizabeth swears by consuming (at least) four cocktails a day. But did you know the 95-year-old monarch is now brewing her own drinks?

That’s right, the queen has signed off on a deal that enables her team to brew a variety of beers using the plants grown at her Sandringham estate, which is located in Norfolk. Buckingham Palace confirmed the exciting news with People magazine and revealed that two ales are now available for purchase in the Sandringham gift shop.

First, there’s a traditional cold-filtered English beer, which has a “bitter” aftertaste. Second, there’s a stronger Golden IPA, which is described as “uniquely natural.”

“Made in the U.K. for the Sandringham Estate,” the label reads. “The Sandringham Estate is a wildlife haven for pheasants, hares, owls and many other species thrive in the wood and farmland habitats.”

This isn’t the first time Queen Elizabeth has dabbled in the beverage industry. Last year, the monarch launched her very own brand of gin. Not only is gin one of her favorite drinks, but she also uses the spirit for other purposes, such as cleaning her royal jewels. 

Unfortunately, the queen’s Sandringham beer isn’t available for purchase online. However, since the royal family is limiting visitors due to social distancing, we expect that to change in the near future. And when it does, we’ll take one of each, please.
