Princess Eugenie Is Launching a Podcast—a First for the Royal Family

Princess Eugenie just became the first member of the royal family to launch a podcast. (Seriously.)

The 29-year-old princess revealed that she’s developing an all-new talk series, Tech Tackles Trafficking. The podcast will raise awareness about issues of modern slavery, so it’s not for the fainthearted.

Princess Eugenie is partnering with Freedom United, along with her own charity, The Anti-Slavery Collective, which she co-founded in 2017 with her best friend, Julia De Boinville. The pair announced the exciting news in an Instagram video, where they discussed what to expect.

“We are developing a podcast with Freedom United, and we will have a speaker series called Tech Tackles Trafficking,” Princess Eugenie says in the clip. “Now is the time to talk about this, this is on everyone’s minds. And if it isn’t, we will make it on their mind.”

The royal goes on to describe her purpose of launching the podcast, adding, “We are doing this for the person who can’t scream and shout like we can, for the women, girls, men, children all over the world.”

While some members of the royal family—like Prince Harry—have appeared on podcasts in the past, Princess Eugenie is the first to launch a platform of her own. So yeah, it’s a pretty big deal.
