Princess Eugenie Is Latest Royal to Respond to the Arrival of Meghan & Harry’s Second Child

Princess Eugenie’s son, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, has a new little cousin to play with. And the Princess of York made sure to send well-wishes to her “dear cousins” who are now parents of two.

Over the weekend, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced that they welcomed their second child together—a baby girl named Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared the news in a message on their Archewell website that read, “On June 4th, we were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lili. She is more than we could have ever imagined, and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we’ve felt from across the globe. Thank you for your continued kindness and support during this very special time for our family.”

In honor of the exciting addition to the royal fam, the 31-year-old shared her congratulations to the duo in a short (yet sweet) message on Instagram. “Congratulations dear cousins.. we couldn't be happier for you all," Eugenie wrote on her Instagram Story featuring a black-and-white maternity photo of the couple.

Eugenie and the Sussexes have had a close relationship for years. In fact, during their tell-all interview with Oprah, the duchess opened up about meeting the members of the royal family for the first time and how she already had a relationship with Princess Eugenie.

“Eugenie and I had known each other before I had known Harry, so that was comfortable,” Markle stated (although she failed to state how exactly they knew each other).

We have a feeling August and baby Lili are going to fast friends.
