Swedish Royal Family Shares 4 Brand-New Portraits for Princess Estelle’s 9th Birthday

The Swedish royal family just released four—we repeat, four—rare portraits of Princess Estelle. (And damn, we suddenly feel extremely old.)

Last week, the palace shared never-before-seen photos in honor of her 9th birthday. Although she’s not quite a teenager, there’s no denying that Princess Estelle is growing up right in front of our eyes.

Three of the photos are solo shots of Princess Estelle, who is wearing a chic outfit that consists of black flats, a plaid skirt and a white blouse paired with matching tights. Each picture shows the young royal in different poses, like standing, sitting and looking directly at the camera.

There’s also a pic of Princess Estelle and her 4-year-old brother, Prince Oscar. The family’s dog, Rio, also made a cameo in the sibling portrait. (Duh.)

The birthday portraits were taken by photographer Kate Gabor at the Swedish royal palace, Haga Castle, which is located outside Stockholm.

Princess Estelle is the oldest child of her parents: Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel. Since she’s the eldest grandchild of King Carl XVI Gustaf, she’s in a prime position to become queen one day. (She’s currently second in line to the Swedish throne after her mother.)

It’s only a matter of time before Princess Estelle joins Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle as one of the most fashionable royals.
