Eep! Royal baby Archie has officially met his Aunt Kate and Uncle Wills.
A spokesperson for the Sussexes confirmed that Prince William and Kate Middleton visited Meghan Markle, Prince Harry and their 1-week-old baby, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, at Frogmore Cottage on Tuesday, according to E! News…and what we'd give to be a fly on that vegan-paint-covered wall.
The Cambridges were introduced to their new nephew just eight days after his May 6th birth, right after Prince Harry returned home from his visit to Oxford on Tuesday.
Royal correspondent Rebecca English confirmed via Twitter that William and Kate's children, George, Charlotte and Louis, weren't with them during their stopover at Frogmore Cottage...and that it'll be "a little while yet" before the young royals meet their new cousin. (Ugh, we can just imagine George's disappointment that Archie's not old enough to watch The Lion King with him yet.)
On the one hand, it's been more than a week since Archie's birth, so it may feel a bit late for Harry's brother and sister-in-law to see his firstborn child. However, Prince Harry was away in the Netherlands a few days after Archie's birth, then Prince William and Kate were in North Wales for a royal visit. It seems that as soon as Harry got home from his engagement in Oxford, Kate and William were there waiting at Frogmore to meet Archie, which (hopefully) means the Sussexes and the Cambridges will make sure to have alllll the royal playdates going forward.
Markle reportedly gave birth to Archie in the swanky Portland hospital in London on Monday, May 6. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex introduced their new little royal baby to the world two days later on May 8, and revealed his name shortly after.
One day after his birth, on May 7, Kate and William gave their first public comments about the birth of baby Sussex.
"We’re absolutely thrilled and look forward to seeing them in the next few days," William said. "I’m very pleased to welcome my brother to the sleep deprivation society that is parenting!"
It seems Meghan and Harry can just revoke their sleep deprivation society memberships, however, because Markle said little Archie "has the sweetest temperament, he's really calm. He's been a dream."
