Prince William & Kate Middleton Just Scooped Up Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s Former Social Media Manager—& We’re Already Noticing Changes

Just shy of two weeks ago, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made their official royal exit, including a goodbye to their beloved social media account @SussexRoyal. Sure, we always had our suspicions that Markle herself was running the account, but now the actual mastermind behind their social just got a new job—and it’s with another royal couple who are quite close to the duo.

According to People, Harry and Markle”s former social media manager, David Watkins, now works for Prince William and Kate Middleton. According to his LinkedIn, he has started running all the Kensington Royal social media accounts and we can’t wait for him to shake things up.

In less than a year, Watkins has successfully garnered 11.3 million followers for Harry and Meghan’s account by posting heartfelt quotes, charitable moments and rare photos of Archie. (They did hit a Guinness World Record for gaining one million followers in about six hours of their debut, so the 27-year-old knows a thing or two about big social accounts.)

Now, Watkins can reshape and take the reigns for the Cambridges. (Maybe even more photos of Charlotte, George and Louis? And emojis?)

Watkins’s LinkedIn states he started in April. This makes sense since we’ve been seeing some subtle changes already, like more casual photos of the royal family (including a pic of their home). Previously, he worked for Burberry overseeing all their social planning and strategy along with creating partnerships with big names like Apple Music, Instagram and Snapchat. It’s safe to say the Kensington account is in good hands.

Congrats on the new job title!
