The Royals Just Released Two New Family Photos, One of Which Was Taken by Kate Middleton

Members of the royal family are sharing never-before-seen photos of Prince Philip and his great-grandchildren days ahead of the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral.

On Wednesday, Queen Elizabeth and Prince William released not one, but two, images of the late royal spending quality time with the seven youngest members of his family. The first throwback, which was shared on the official Royal Family IG account, shows Philip and Her Majesty with their great-grandchildren, Isla, Savannah, Prince Louis, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Mia and Lena.

“The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh surrounded by seven of their great-grandchildren at Balmoral Castle in 2018,” the caption read before revealing that the shot was taken by non-other than Kate Middleton.

Speaking of the 39-year-old royal, she and her husband, William, shared a new pic of their own on their personal social media accounts. The snap was taken at Balmoral in 2015 and features the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge smiling for the camera with their two eldest children as well as Philip and Liz.

“Today we share, along with Members of @theroyalfamily, photographs of The Duke of Edinburgh, remembering him as a father, grandfather and great-grandfather.”

The Duke of Edinburgh’s celebration of life will take place at Windsor Castle on April 17. The event will be an intimate affair with attendees including mainly being the members of the family, including Prince Harry, who recently landed across the pond.
