This just in, royal followers: We’ve got a brand-new post from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. No—they still haven't gone back on social media, but we've taken to stalking the couple's Archewell Foundation site for our Harry and Meghan updates. And good thing, because the Duke and Duchess of Sussex just shared an important message regarding the “state of the world's fathers.”

In a news update posted to the Archewell page on Friday, July 21, the site shone a spotlight on Equimundo, “an organization working internationally to engage men and boys as allies in gender equality,” and its State of the World’s Fathers 2023 report. The organization surveyed thousands of men and women across 17 countries for its results, with the full support of the Archewell Foundation.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex detailed a few of the significant findings from the report. “The 2023 data shows that men are increasingly involved in caregiving and would like to increase their care work at home, although deeply ingrained social norms and a lack of supportive policies and power structures discourage them from doing so,” the update read. “The report recognizes care work as the bedrock of society, and calls for continued advancements towards gender equality. It also emphasizes the need for media representation that normalizes men’s caregiving roles.”

This is clearly an issue that is important to both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The Duke of Sussex, 38, talked about his own role as a father during a passionate speech back in 2019, only months before his son Archie, 4, was born. “As someone who is about to become a father, I am acutely aware of our shared responsibility to make this world more resilient and its inhabitants more accountable for the next generation,” Prince Harry said at the time.

A strong point made by the couple.
