Now that the hype surrounding their multiple wedding receptions has calmed down, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra are focusing their attention on an all-new venture: reality TV.
That’s right, the Quantico star, 36, recently sat down for an interview with InStyle magazine and revealed that their recent nuptials inspired them to develop a reality show.
The series, titled A Week to Sangeet, will be based on India’s version of a rehearsal dinner, where couples of all ages battle it out in an intense dance competition.
“Nick came up with it because he was blown away by how the dinner brings people together,” Chopra explained. “By the end everyone knows each other’s names.”
Unfortunately, the actress didn’t reveal any further details about A Week to Sangeet. She did, however, discuss her upcoming rom-com with Mindy Kaling, which will revolve around an extravagant Indian wedding.
“An all-Indian cast in a Hollywood movie—I don’t think I would have been able to pitch that in a room three years ago,” Chopra added. “Mindy and I were both super psyched about it.”
Chopra and Jonas met in 2017 when they attended the Met Gala together…as friends. In the summer of 2018, they made their relationship Instagram official and even flew to India, so Jonas could meet the parents. The couple tied the knot in December 2018 in a lavish two-day wedding at Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, India.
We’re not ashamed to admit that we’ll definitely be tuning in once their show hits the airwaves.
