Neil Patrick Harris Gets Extremely Candid About ‘Doogie Howser’ Reboot

nph 4

Neil Patrick Harris may have one of the most impressive resumes in Hollywood. However, this fact has little to no effect on his kids, who would apparently rather watch cartoons than some of his most iconic TV shows and movies.

PureWow recently spoke with the Gone Girl star about his latest partnership with PayPal and Venmo in which he shares tips for safely shopping in-store, like paying touch-free with PayPal and Venmo QR Codes at CVS. During the interview, we asked the 47-year-old actor about the recently announced reboot of the hit series, Doogie Howser, M.D.which Harris starred in from 1989 to 1993.

“I have nothing to do with it,” Harris said referring to the reboot. “I'm a big fan of Disney + and I'm familiar with the producer from How I Met Your Mother. I think they are in good hands and I can’t wait to watch it with my kids.”

So, what do Harper and Gideon really think about their dad’s role in the original show? Well, they know the series exists, but their television interests lie elsewhere at the moment.

“They do [know about the show] but they haven’t watched too many episodes,” Harris continued. “Not sure why. I really need to sit them down and teach them about my history. They’re on an anime kick right now so choosing between an ’80s drama and Hunter x Hunter is a pretty easy cut and dry decision for them.”

Don’t worry, Neil. We’re sure they’ll finish Doogie Howser one day.
