Will Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Return to the U.K. for the Holidays?

Since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed Lilibet “Lili” Diana over the summer, we’ve been wondering when the family of four would travel back across the pond and reunite with the rest of the royal crew. While our original thought was that perhaps baby Lili would be christened in the U.K. like her brother (although, this was never actually confirmed), circumstances seem to have changed, according to a new report.

Turns out, the Duke of Sussex might be taking a solo trip to visit his family sooner than planned due to Queen Elizabeth’s health struggles. (ICYMI: Last month, the 95-year-old monarch was admitted to the hospital, as instructed by her doctors, where she underwent “preliminary investigations.” She canceled a handful of in-person events, upcoming trips and resumed only minor duties from her desk at Windsor Castle.)

A source told OK! Magazine that the 95-year-old’s recent hospital stay has led the 37-year-old to begin planning a trip to see his grandmother. “[Harry] has been in touch with her nonstop, sending messages and care packages,” the source revealed. “But he feels that’s not enough and wants to be by her side.”

Since the holidays are just around the corner, the source stated that the prince might want to use them as an opportunity to spend time with the monarch. They continued, “He’s fearful there may not be another opportunity to celebrate the holidays with the queen. For all of his grievances with the royal family, he adores his grandmother and misses her terribly.”

It’s important to note that nothing has been confirmed by Harry or any of his representatives. So, we’re taking this news with a grain of salt for now and we’ll be patiently waiting for more details.
