Wait, Did Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Wish Prince Charles a Happy Birthday?

Prince Charles rang in his birthday over the weekend and while he received tons of public well-wishes from his loved ones, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were noticeably mum on the subject.

The Duke of Cornwall celebrated his 72nd birthday on Saturday, November 14. And though a handful of his royal family members sent him public messages of love and “Happy Birthdays,” the Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared to have opted to do so in private.

Queen Elizabeth was the first to honor Charles’s latest milestone by sharing a rare black-and-white photo of her first-born as a baby on her lap on the official Royal Family Instagram account. The sweet snap was also accompanied by a second image of the mother-son duo laughing together at the Braemer Highland Games in 2016. The caption read. “Wishing The Prince of Wales a very happy birthday today!”

Kate Middleton and Prince William also shared their own post on their Kensington Royal account, writing, "Wishing a very Happy Birthday to His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales!"

While we don’t know for sure, we’d imagine Meghan and Harry sent their love to the Prince of Wales with a phone call or video chat (featuring baby Archie, of course). We’re not surprised that the couple opted to take the private route. In their defense, they currently don’t have a running social media account on which to share a public post. The duo closed their Sussex Royal Instagram account in March when they decided to step down as senior members of the royal family.

No matter how they went about sending their well-wishes to the birthday boy, we’re sure they were just as heartfelt.
