Your Guide to the Meghan Markle Hallmark Movies (and Where to Watch Them)

It’s no secret that before she was the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle was known for her acting career (and, yes, that fortunately means there are Meghan Markle Hallmark movies out there).

It’s been approximately one year since the 38-year-old left her television roles behind for a life of royalty, Prince Harry and most recently, motherhood.

You may already know that Markle had a seven-year run as Rachel Zane on the USA Network series Suits, and that she spent some time as a briefcase model on the game show, Deal or No Deal. But if you’re like us, you might not remember her from several roles on our favorite holiday channel, Hallmark.

Yep, before she was a royal living out her fairy-tale romance with Prince Harry in real life, she was living out other fairy-tale romances on the small screen. And while the holidays rapidly approach (aka our favorite time to binge Hallmark originals and eat ice cream on the couch), we decided it would be the perfect opportunity to take a trip down memory lane.

So, here it is ladies and gentlemen: a breakdown of both Meghan Markle Hallmark movies…trailers and all.

1. ‘when Sparks Fly’

This 2014 dramedy tells the story of young journalist Amy Peterson (Markle) whose work begins to suffer as she becomes more and more unhappy with her big city life and current relationship. Amy's editor sends her back to her hometown to write a story on her life growing up in her parents' fireworks business. (We see where this is going). While back home—coincidently during the Fourth of July holiday—she is tasked with playing wedding planner for her best friend who just happens to be marrying her ex-boyfriend, Hank (Christopher Jacot). But when some old feelings start to resurface, things get a bit messy for Amy. Will sparks begin to fly between the ex-couple? Sorry, we had to.

2. ‘dater’s Handbook’

In this 2016 romantic comedy, Cassandra Brand (Markle) realizes she has a habit of picking the wrong type of guy—in typical rom-com fashion—and seeks help from a relationship expert, Dr. Susie (Teryl Rothery) and new her dating guide, Dater's Handbook. While using a checklist (yes, an actual checklist) to determine her perfect match, Cassandra finds herself caught between two potential suitors—George (Jonathan Scarfe) and Robert (Kristoffer Polaha). Will she choose the safer romantic George or the adventurous, fun loving Robert? We can take a guess.

And while our hopes of Markle ever returning to corny television movies have expired, we couldn’t be happier to watch the duchess live out her real-life fairy-tale with Prince Harry and baby Archie instead.
