Just because Mandy Moore is the star of NBC’s This Is Us doesn’t mean she’s forgotten about her pop star past. In fact, the 35-year-old singer is currently working on new music with her husband, Taylor Goldsmith.
Yesterday, Moore teased what’s to come, sharing an Instagram slideshow with photos from the studio—and it’s about damn time.
The slideshow shows a series of pics featuring Moore and her team working on the new album. The last slide even teases one of the songs, and is it just us, or does it totally sound like something Rebecca Pearson would sing?
She captioned the post, “In the middle of making new music with some of my favorite people ever (@themikeviola, @dawestheband, @taylordawesgoldsmith, @herbadams). Can’t WAIT for you guys to hear what we’re cooking up…”
Moore and Goldsmith announced their engagement back in September 2017. In November 2018, the couple tied the knot in an intimate backyard wedding at the actress’s home in Los Angeles. Since her husband is the guitarist for the band Dawes, we’re not surprised that she’s teaming up with him to return to her musical roots.
The singer originally rose to popularity in 1999 when she released her first-ever single, “Candy.” With the success of her debut album, So Real, Moore became a force to be reckoned with in the pop industry alongside Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. Although music was her main priority, she also dabbled in acting—like when she appeared in The Princess Diaries, A Walk to Remember and Chasing Liberty.
