Tim Allen’s ‘Last Man Standing’ Reboot Gets a Season 2 Renewal at Fox

It’s official: Last Man Standing is, uh, still standing.

Fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief because Fox just renewed the revived comedy series for a second season. While not much is known about the reboot’s sophomore run, it is scheduled to premiere during the 2019-2020 TV season.

The news comes just one day before the 150th episode of Last Man Standing airs on Fox. According to Tim Allen, the accomplishment means a lot to the entire cast.

“Hard to believe Last Man Standing hits 150 episodes this week and it gets better with another upcoming season at Fox!” he said, as Deadline reports. “Great news for all of us who are creating these stories and working our pants off to make you all laugh. It’s another big high-five to the legions of loyal fans who have faithfully kept us front and center and huge on the radar.”

Last Man Standing originally premiered in 2011 and ran for six successful seasons on ABC before getting canceled in May 2017. One year later, Fox picked up the series for the fall 2018 season.

In addition to Allen (Mike Baxter), the series also stars Nancy Travis (Vanessa Baxter), Hector Elizondo (Ed Alzate), Christoph Sanders (Kyle Anderson), Kaitlyn Dever (Eve Baxter), Molly Ephraim (Mandy Baxter) and Amanda Fuller (Kristin Baxter).

We’re not surprised by the renewal, considering Last Man Standing is averaging more than 11 million viewers per episode across multiple platforms.

Still, we’d love to hear what ABC has to say about this.
