Kristin Chenoweth is prepared to take on the role of one of music's biggest icons: Dolly Parton.
In a recent interview with Mr. Nashville Talks, Parton revealed that she is still working on a project that will adapt her life story. While the “9 to 5” singer had previously been developing a Broadway musical based on her life, the plans got scrapped due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Parton said, “I do intend someday to be on Broadway, but I'm thinking now that I might do my life story as a feature, and maybe, possibly even, a musical feature. And so...we're in talks about that.”
During the interview, Parton was asked if she had any stars in mind, but the musician said the project was too early in development to know yet. However, back in December 2020, Parton showed her interest in Kristin Chenoweth while chatting with Marie Claire. “I love Kristin Chenoweth,” Parton said. “She's just absolutely fantastic. Years and years ago, when I was going to do the Broadway musical...I thought she'd be an ideal person to do that.”
