Earlier this week, a blizzard-sized piece of Frozen news hit the internet courtesy of Kristen Bell. Need a hint? Well, her character, Anna, has two more people to build a snowman with in the forthcoming sequel.
Bell revealed exactly who This Is Us star Sterling K. Brown and Westworld actress Evan Rachel Wood will play in Frozen 2 and shared never-before-seen photos of their characters in action. Anyone else excited?
“First stills of #FROZEN2 introducing @evanrachelwood as #Queeniduna and @sterlingkbrown as #GeneralMattias!” Bell captioned the slideshow.
The first photo features Brown’s character General Mattias in uniform speaking with Anna. During this past weekend’s Disney D23 Expo, Brown offered up some details about his character, saying, “I play General Mattias, who was a soldier in the Arendelle army. He’s sort of a figure from Elsa and Anna’s past because he worked for their grandfather when he was king. And they get a chance to learn some things from their past they did not know. And they kind of help pull him into the present as well.”
The third photo in the slideshow reveals Wood’s character, Queen Iduna, cuddling with a young Anna and Elsa. Wood revealed some interesting facts about Queen Iduna at D23, saying, “I play Queen Iduna, Anna and Elsa’s mother, who we lost in the first film in the Disney tradition. But we get to see a bit more of her in the second one and revisit the past [via flashbacks] and uncover some mysteries that we didn’t know before.”
So two figures from the sister’s past are returning to teach them valuable lessons? Yep. Sounds like a Disney movie (that we can’t wait to see).
