Kit Harington Tried to Play an April Fools’ Prank on Rose Leslie & It Did *Not* Go As Planned

Sure, Kit Harington plays the King in the North on Game of Thrones, but that doesn’t mean he’s King of Pranks in real life. In fact, the 32-year-old actor recently admitted that his April Fools’ prank on his wife, Rose Leslie, totally backfired on him.

Harington appeared on yesterday’s episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, where he revealed that this year’s trick didn’t go as planned. Although he’s known for going above and beyond when it comes to tricks—like when he put a severed head in the fridge—the GoT star was forced to scale back this year.

“I’m aware this is the most first-world April Fools’ before I tell this story,” he began. “I didn’t know what to do.”

So, Harington used Leslie’s favorite almond milk brand as leverage, adding, “I just wrote an article about how this company that makes her favorite almond milk was going under because of Brexit. Now this backfired, ’cause she immediately rang my PA and got her to bulk-order this almond milk with my credit card, so I ended up spending 150 quid on almond milk.”

Host Seth Meyers went on to say what we’re all thinking: “It turns out the only thing more terrifying than seeing your severed head in a refrigerator is seeing cartons upon cartons of almond milk.”

Harington and Leslie met while filming the second season of Game of Thrones. Although they didn’t go public with their relationship until 2014, the couple tied the knot in 2018 in an intimate ceremony in Scotland.

Something tells us Leslie knew exactly what her husband was up to. Congrats on winning the prank war, and enjoy the almond milk.
