Kim Kardashian Just Purchased a *Very* Rare Piece of Jewelry Once Belonging to Princess Diana

Royal Jewelry Alert: Kim Kardashian is now the proud owner of a unique pendant once owned by the one and only Princess Diana.

Per People, the reality show star bought a rare Amethyst Cross Pendant in the annual Royal & Noble auction hosted by the British fine arts company, Sotheby’s. The price tag, you may be wondering? The Skims founder purchased the fine piece of jewelry once belonging to the former Princess of Wales for a total of $197,453.

Kristian Spofforth (the Sotheby’s Head of Jewelry in London) released an official statement, which read: “This is a bold piece of jewelry by its size, color and style which cannot fail to make a vibrant statement, whether it be of faith or fashion—or indeed both. We are delighted that this piece has found a new lease of life within the hands of another globally famous name.”

According to the official Sotheby’s website, Diana donned the stunning accessory while attending the Birthright charity gala held in 1987, where she paired the diamond pendant with an extravagant purple and black velvet dress designed by Catherine Walker & Co.

Kardashian is certainly not the first to don a vibrant necklace once belonging to the late Princess Diana. Back in December, Kate Middleton and her husband, Prince William, attended the Earthshot Prize Awards in Boston, Massachusetts. During the annual event, Catherine looked absolutely breathtaking in a bright green Solace London gown along with an emerald choker that was previously worn by the former princess on numerous occasions.

It’s quite a stunning necklace, indeed.
