Kelly Ripa recently shared a never-before-seen photograph of her mom, Esther, and we swear we had to do a double-take.
On Tuesday, the Live with Kelly and Ryan co-host posted a side-by-side on Instagram that proves good looks run in the family. The image features a young Esther (on the left) next to a red-carpet photo of the actress. “Mom 1980. Me 2005,” she captioned the photograph.
If you look closely, you’ll notice that Ripa and her mom could practically pass for twin sisters. Not only do they have the same exact smile, hair and eyes, but both of women have incredibly impressive cheekbones.
And we weren’t the only ones who noticed the uncanny resemblance. Fans and followers quickly pointed out the mother-daughter duo’s likeness in the comments section of the post. One use wrote, “Here I thought you looked like your dad but you definitely resemble your mother! Very striking beautiful ladies you are!” while another added, “Well there’s no question of whose child you are. Amazing!!”
This is the second time the All My Children alum posted a TBT of her mother this week. On Monday, in honor of International Women’s Day, the television personality shared a slideshow on Instagram featuring photos of herself with close family members and friends. “To my mothers, daughters, sisters and mentors. You’re all phenomenal women. Happy #internationalwomensday,” she captioned the post. The first image featured a young Ripa being held by Esther. Yup, twins.
The phrase “like mother, like daughter” takes on a whole new meaning with these two.
