Kelly Ripa is treating us to all the throwback content—and we are here for it.
First, it was vintage photos of her mom. Then, it was a rare throwback from her early years with Mark Consuelos. And now, the Live with Kelly and Ryan co-host is paying tribute to Madonna by sharing an early 2000s pic in honor of her birthday. She wrote on Instagram, "@madonna and child. Happy Birthday M [hear emojis]."
To clarify for those who were confused by Joaquin's presence in the pic, she added, "Guys, to be clear, it’s not Joaquin’s birthday, it’s @madonna‘s. (18 years ago)."
In the snap, Madonna is seen posing with Ripa while holding Joaquin when he was just a baby. And naturally, hundreds of compliments flooded the comments section. One fan said, "If this isn’t the coolest picture of the year I don’t know what is." Another wrote, "This is so iconic."
In case you missed it, the actress and TV personality announced in July that she's working on her first-ever book, Live Wire, which is set to release in 2022. The tell-all book will give fans a rare glimpse into her personal and professional life.
According to a statement that Ripa released, Live Wire will include "a collection of personal essays on childhood, motherhood, marriage, her career and the intersection of all the above—putting her thoughtfulness, assertiveness and deep understanding of the dynamics of gender and power on full display.”
“Surprising, at times savage, a little shameless and always with humor…Live Wire shows Kelly as she really is offscreen—a very wise woman who has something to say,” the statement continued. “Whether recounting how she and Mark really met, the level of chauvinism she experienced on set, how Jersey Pride follows her wherever she goes, and many, many moments of utter mortification (whence she proves that you cannot, in fact, die of embarrassment), Kelly always tells it like it is.”
