Kelly Ripa’s Son & Husband Just Gave Her the Best Birthday Surprise

Today is a very important day—Kelly Ripa’s 50th birthday. And it’s already been full of surprises.

On Friday, the Live with Kelly and Ryan star started off her big day filming an episode of her morning show. That’s when she received an unexpected visit from her son, Michael Joseph. During one segment, the 23-year-old arrived on the set to gift his mother with a bouquet of gorgeous white flowers. The stage was also filled with pink, gold and silver balloons. Ripa was all smiles as she gave her son a huge hug and kiss and posed for some photos.

If you didn’t know, Michael, the eldest child of the couple, is an actor, who recently graduated from New York University with a degree in film. (You may also recognize him from his role on Riverdale as the younger version of Mark Consuelos’s character).

But that wasn’t Ripa’s only surprise. In fact, her husband Mark Consuelos, who is currently spending time in Vancouver to film his series Riverdale, even made a virtual appearance to send his love to his wife.

To celebrate the milestone, co-host Ryan Seacrest, also planned a few things for his pal, including a socially distanced party (featuring Anderson Cooper), a Fudgie the Whale birthday cake and a street performance from the music group, Breakdown Brass.
