Kate Middleton's Response to a Kid Who Asked If Queen Elizabeth Eats Pizza Was...Disappointing

During her visit to the King Henry’s Walk Garden in the London borough of Islington this morning, Kate Middleton met with garden volunteers, painted bird boxes with kids and helped schoolchildren make pizzas in the garden kitchen.

While crafting the deliciously cheesy carb discs, the duchess, who celebrated her 37th birthday last week, asked the schoolchildren about their favorite pizza toppings. “Cucumbers” was the most groundbreaking choice, though it seems “cheese mozzarella” and tomato sauce won the popular vote. Middleton offers her fave: bacon, which was criticized by one young boy. “Why would you put bacon next to tomato sauce? That’s just wrong.” Listen, dude, you need to expand your pie-topping horizons. Also, cucumbers?!

Then, a young girl asks the burning question on everyone’s mind: Does the queen like pizza?

Middleton deftly responds with the mastery of a mother of three: “That’s a good question, I don’t know… Maybe next time I see her, shall I ask her?”

The adorable exchange is captured on camera by royal correspondent Rebecca English, and while we’re not 100 percent satisfied with that answer (the queen definitely eats smoked salmon or something fancy on her pizza pie), it’s the diplomatic response, to be sure. Also, she had to tread lightly with a group of critics like these.

Fingers crossed we get a Buckingham Palace statement with Her Majesty's answer soon...
