Jessica Simpson has proven yet again that her children are carbon copies of their mom. And judging by her latest Instagram post, her mini-me's had quite an eventful summer.
The Open Book author, 40, shared a fun back-to-school snap of her two eldest kids and wrote, "First day of 2nd and 3rd grade for these two kiddos. Ace has a busted lip and Maxi has a busted chin. Finished the summer out strong [silly face emoji] #MAXIDREW #ACEKNUTE."
In the pic, Maxi Drew, 8, and Ace Knute, 7, embrace as they pose together in their colorful school gear. Ace Knute flashes a big smile that's legit identical to his mom's while his big sister offers a little smirk, passing for a much younger version of Simpson.
Fans filled the comments to gush over the snap, noting how similar they looked to their mother. One commenter wrote, "Such adorable babies you have. They both look like you in different ways [kiss emoji] happy school year." Another added, "They are your TWINS!"

The mother of three shares Maxi Drew, Ace Knute and 1-year-old Birdie May with her husband and former NFL player, Eric Johnson. When the couple welcomed Birdie May in 2019, Simpson shared the news on Instagram and wrote, "We are so happy and proud to announce the birth of our perfect daughter, Birdie Mae Johnson. 3.19.19 10 Pounds 13 Ounces."
Although Simpson has been quarantining with her kids in her California home, she described it as a "refreshing" experience—even despite the struggle of having to teach them math. She told HelloGiggles, "I really appreciate the time we’re spending together because I feel like the older kids would have missed out on so much of Byrdie growing up. Her first word was Ace, my son's name. They're besties."
