HUGE news from across the pond today, guys: Kate Middleton’s brother has an Instagram, and he just went public.
Quick refresher on why this is such a big deal (besides the fact that James Middleton is quite the ~attractive~ bachelor): As working royals, Kate, Prince William, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are not allowed to have social media accounts. Instead, the Kensington Palace account posts on their Fab Four behalf (which is sort of a buzzkill, since they filter everything through until it’s Queen Elizabeth–approved).
BUT, since James, 31, is Kate and Pippa Middleton’s only brother, his Instagram account not only offers cute puppy pics (he’s a big animal lover and owns, like, 13 dogs), shirtless ab pics (GAH) and cool outdoorsy pics (he’s quite the athlete, as well), it shows a never-before-seen glimpse into Kate Middleton’s private home and family life.
Like, here, when he celebrated Princess Charlotte’s birth the only way anyone should: with pink champagne, of course.
