ICYMI: Kate Middleton’s only brother, James, is officially off the market, thanks to his newly announced engagement to Alizee Thevenet. While the couple has been dating for nearly a year, we weren’t very familiar with the 32-year-old entrepreneur’s soon-to-be bride.

She works as a financial analyst, according to Tatler. Thevenet previously obtained her master’s degree in investment and finance from Queen Mary University London.
Although she technically hails from France, she lived in six different countries as a child, including France (duh), Germany, Indonesia, Chile, Belgium and England. Oh, and she can fluently speak three languages: English, French and Spanish.
The pair met at a bar in London, per The Daily Mail. Although we don’t have a definitive date, it’s estimated that they’ve been dating around ten months.
Middleton made his relationship with Thevenet social media official in May 2019 when he shared a rare couple photo on his personal Instagram account.
The pic features the pair wearing matching sweaters on a sailboat with the caption, “Sail away with me.”
In October 2019, Middleton announced on Instagram that he’s engaged by sharing a photo of the soon-to-be bride and groom. He even tagged England’s famous Lake District as the location—it’s not only an ideal spot to pop the question, but it’s also where James, Kate and their other sister Pippa used to vacation as kids.
“She said OUI,” he captioned the post. “Our secret is out but we couldn’t be happier to share the news.”
Based on the photo, the engagement ring appears to be an emerald-cut sapphire. James is very familiar with the gem, since his sister’s ring has the same jewel—it was given to Kate by Prince William from his mother Princess Diana’s collection.
Unfortunately, James and Alizee haven’t mentioned any further details about setting a wedding date. However, we can’t deny that summer 2020 has an awfully nice ring to it.
In the meantime, we’ll be crossing our fingers that Kate’s children—Prince George (6), Princess Charlotte (4) and Prince Louis (1)—are included in the upcoming nuptials.
