Brother to Kate and Pippa Middleton, dog lover, outdoorsman, entrepreneur...and now add to the list: fiancé.
James Middleton, 32, popped the question to girlfriend of just over a year, Alizee Thevenet, 30, and revealed the news on Instagram on October 6.
"She said OUI," James captioned the post of himself and French financial analyst Thevenet, wearing what looks to be the same orange sweater she wore in their first Insta together as a couple. "Our secret is out but we couldn’t be happier to share the news," he added, with two champagne emojis. The location tag is England's famous Lake District, aka a very breathtaking and romantic spot to pop the question, and where Kate, Pippa and James used to vacation as kids.
The ring in the photo looks to be an emerald-cut sapphire, the same jewel featured on Kate's ring, given to her by Prince William from his mother Princess Diana's collection. Kathryn Money, VP of Strategy & Merchandising for Brilliant Earth, estimates the middle sapphire is between five to seven carats, with two diamond baguette side stones, and costs between $30,000 and $40,000.
James then added what we can only assume is the couple's nickname, "#jalizee," a combo of James and Alizee, and two emojis: a British flag and a French flag representing the happy couple's backgrounds.
And here we thought his photography-loving sister Kate got all the creative genes in that family...
