I Think Jason Blossom Is Still Alive on ‘Riverdale’ & Here’s Why

If you asked me during season one of Riverdale about the possibility of Jason Blossom (Trevor Stines) returning from the dead, I’d probably give it a slim to none chance. But this week’s episode of The CW series made me pose a question that I never thought I’d ask: Is Cheryl’s (Madelaine Petsch) twin brother actually deceased?

On Chapter Fifty-Three of Riverdale, titled “Jawbreaker,” Betty (Lili Reinhart) further explores the bombshell that Cheryl dropped in Chapter Fifty-Two—how The Farm brought her dead brother Jason back to life.

When Toni (Vanessa Morgan) enlists Betty to give Cheryl a reality check, Betty shows Cheryl the video footage of Clifford (Barclay Hope) shooting Jason in the head. Still, Cheryl refuses to accept that her twin brother is dead, and her stance speaks volumes.

Why? In my personal opinion, Cheryl is one of the most grounded characters on the show, despite the fact that she comes from a drug-dealing, mob-like family. So, I can’t help but wonder if she’s telling the truth when she says she “saw” Jason.

Before I lose you, it’s important to point out that I’m not saying Clifford didn’t kill Jason. I fully believe that Jason died in season one. However, I wouldn’t put it past Clifford to bring Jason’s body to The Farm prior to his suicide in the season-one finale. And if the cult is capable of anything, it’s bringing someone back to life.

Don’t believe me? Take Alice Cooper (Mädchen Amick), for example, who seemingly died and then came back to life during her baptism in Chapter Forty-Eight.

So, is a resurrection twist in our near future? All signs point to yes. Riverdale returns to The CW next Wednesday, April 24, at 8 p.m.
